The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, ceremoniously presented awards to the winners of the competition for children's works on the theme "I Love Serbia," at the Museum of Serbian Diplomacy. Upon the initiative of the Consulate General of Serbia in New York, in collaboration with the Sector for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, a competition for children's works (essays and poems) was announced, in which ten winners emerged, three from the United States and seven from Serbia.

Minister Dačić presented the winners of the competition with a book about Nikola Tesla and addressed the audience on this occasion. Minister Dačić's address is presented in full:

"Dear students,

It is a great pleasure to have you with us today and to have the opportunity to present you with these symbolic awards for your works on the theme 'I Love Serbia.' All the works that arrived on this topic at our Consulate General in New York represent an additional incentive for all of us to do our jobs even more responsibly, better, and more devotedly. Your touching words about how much you love Serbia are our obligation - to do everything to ensure that your love for our homeland remains with you and that you stay here even when you become adults, and also that your peers around the world never forget where they come from and proudly proclaim their Serbian origin.

Dear children,

In such competitions, there is no winner; there are only words that task us with doing everything to make our Serbia your home that you will be proud of, a country that will enable you to grow up happy and carefree and fulfill all your potentials.

I hope you will enjoy today in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and I believe that some of you will come back to this building again, as our diplomats.

Once again, congratulations on your wonderful works, and I wish you to continue learning and developing, to love your Serbia, and to be, as always, the pride of your families, the places you come from, and our entire country."

Minister Dačić also presented the title of Tesla Ambassador to American journalist Michael Freud, Greek Ioanna Batsialou, and Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York Dr. Vladimir Božović on this occasion.
