Earlier today, the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Bozovic, presented a Christmas gift sent by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to the Bishop of Eastern America Irinej.

The Consul General visited the Bishop of Eastern America Irinej after spending the most joyous holiday among Orthodox Christians, Orthodox Christmas, in his homeland, in Belgrade, surrounded by family and friends.

"It was extremely important for me to visit the Bishop of Eastern America Irinej immediately upon returning to my duties in New York and present him with a special gift from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. On behalf of the Republic of Serbia, I expressed gratitude for the immeasurable role that the Serbian Orthodox Church plays in preserving the identity of the Serbian people in today's world. Despite all the challenges it faces, the Serbian Orthodox Church manages to maintain a high position among the institutions that enjoy the greatest trust of the citizens of Serbia, both in our homeland and here in New York, as well as among our people throughout the United States of America. That is why it is an honor for me to mark my return to work in the New Year in this way. I believe there is a lot of symbolism in that, and I expect that in 2024, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York and the Serbian Orthodox Church, with the joint support of our strong diaspora and the Republic of Serbia, will achieve many significant results that we will all be proud of when this year ends," said Consul General Vladimir Bozovic after presenting the gift and conveying warm regards from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
