H.E. Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Dr. Vladimir Bozovic, met with his Kuwaiti counterpart, H.E. Consul General Azzam Alasfoor. On this occasion, he signed the condolence book in honor of the death of the Emir of the State of Kuwait. He wrote, "On behalf of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people and citizens, as the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, I express my condolences to the people and the state of Kuwait on the death of the Emir of Kuwait, HE NAWAF AL AHMAD AL JABER AL SABAHU, who was an example of modesty and sacrifice for his people and country." The interlocutors confirmed the longstanding and very good friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Kuwait, dating back to the times of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. During that period, many companies from Yugoslavia worked and built the modern and prosperous Kuwait of today, and numerous students from Kuwait received their education at the University of Belgrade.
